What are GLP-1s?

GLP-1 receptor agonists are prescription medications that mimic a natural gut hormone involved in appetite and blood sugar regulation. Semaglutide and tirzepatide (which also acts on GIP) are the best known. They are prescribed for type 2 diabetes and for chronic weight management in eligible adults.

Why demand is so high

Clinical trials showed meaningful weight loss for many patients, and public awareness grew quickly. Many people now look for a convenient, supported way to start, which is where trusted wellness businesses come in.

How GLP-1s are prescribed through telehealth

A licensed clinician reviews the patient's history, BMI, other conditions and medications, and may order labs. Not everyone is a candidate. Patients with certain thyroid cancer histories, pancreatitis history or pregnancy are typically excluded. The clinician decides, not the business.

Side effects and support

Common side effects are gastrointestinal, such as nausea, constipation or diarrhea, especially as doses increase. Preserving muscle with protein intake and strength training is widely recommended, which is a natural fit for gyms and coaches.

What your business should and should not do

You can educate, refer clients to the platform and support their training and nutrition. You should not promise results, give dosing advice, or imply a medication is right for someone. Leave medical decisions to the clinician and keep marketing claims accurate.
